We are passionate not just about helping the horse improve its posture and biomechanics but also that of the rider.

Nicola is a qualified Pilates Instructor and Personal Trainer. As a Grand Prix rider she knows exactly what is required of the body and with a wealth of experience can help you both in and out of the saddle.

By improving our body awareness, balance, co-ordination, flexibility and muscular control you will notice your aids being more independent, a lighter more improved posture, improved stability and mobility in the saddle and an improved way of going for your horse.

As riders we must look at being the very best version of ourselves in the saddle in order to get the best from our equine partners.

Nicola is so positive and supportive

I’ve been having lessons with Nicola on Hoggy once around once a month for the last two years. I don’t have my own horse and am looking for my next horse at the moment.

My aim of the lessons are to improve my riding so I can get my next horse knowing I’m more balanced and capable. Watching a video of my riding from today has amazed me the progress I’ve made! (And I’m really not someone who would normally say anything positive about myself!) I’ve gone from someone who leaned forward and gripped with my legs with little to no rein contact. To someone who is sitting upright with a more consistent contact and loose but more effective legs.

I find the Testt training fascinating how focussing on the difference little adjustments can make on other parts of my body and how that helps the horse. It’s also really clear to see why the you need to make the adjustments as it’s clear to see when Hoggy can’t do what you’re asking because you’re blocking him and then the moment you adjust and he does what your asking it’s amazing feeling. This really helps you to remember what you need to focus on next time.

Nicola is so positive, supportive and explains everything so clearly exactly what you want in a trainer. And also the people at the yard are also so friendly it’s really a welcoming atmosphere. I always leave the yard feeling great!

I highly recommend Hoggy and Nicola to everyone you will not regret it! I’m definitely a Hoggy addict lol!
